Dear Lord

Dear Lord, I kneel with thanks today,
For fields of gold and harvest bright.
The barns are full, the pantry too,
I owe it all, Lord, up to You.

But as I look across the way,
My neighbors toiled through tougher days.
Their fields were dry, their barns stayed bare,
And still, they bow their heads in prayer.

What do I say when I see their strain,
Their quiet hands, their silent pain?
“Come share our table, there’s plenty here,”
But the words feel heavy, God, I fear.

They’re good folks, Lord, they’ve worked so hard,
Yet this year left their pride scarred.
I see it in their weary eyes,
In mornings spent ‘neath gray-lit skies.

Thank You, God, for all You’ve done,
For blessings bright beneath the sun.
But if next year You shift the load,
And spread the bounty down the road,

I’d gladly face a harder year,
If it means their hearts will feel less fear.
For now, please guide my hands and heart,
To share with love and do my part.

Help me offer without pride,
To lift them up, to walk beside.
Give me words that heal, not sting,
And grace for what Your seasons bring.

Amen.
