Theme Parks

We drove to the park with dreams held high,
Left with sunburns, debt, and a pie in the eye.
Ma rode a coaster and lost her lunch,
Hit Cousin Bea, who screamed a bunch.
Pa tried the log ride wearin’ chaps,
Got soaked and sued for indecent laps.
The funnel cake booth ran out of batter,
So they served us napkins with powdered splatter.
Uncle Jeb met a pirate named Dave,
They fought for three hours over who gets the cave.
Granny got stuck in the teacup spin,
Now she sees colors and drinks gin.
The mascot winked and made a fart,
Turned out it was just a bored intern’s art.
The line for the restroom took a year,
So Pa used a bush and faced crowd cheer.
We came for joy, left with regret,
And a churro Ma still hasn’t digested yet.
