Costume Parties
Showed up as a cowboy–no surprise,
Only to find folks in squid disguise.
Ma dressed like a cactus, green and proud,
Got stuck in the punch bowl drawin’ a crowd.
Pa thought he was clever as “Sexy Abe,”
But the beard fell off–revealed Cousin Gabe.
Uncle Ned came in a toilet seat crown,
Declared himself “King Flush” of our town.
The dog wore boots and a judge’s robe,
Won best in show for “Legal Bovine Globe.”
Aunt Flo thought it was a masquerade,
Wore lingerie and a live grenade.
The DJ spun hits from 1902,
We danced the Charleston in Scooby-Doo shoes.
Someone brought chili, dressed as a nun,
That haunted the bathroom til Monday run.
We don’t throw parties with class or grace,
But Lord, we win in style and disgrace.
