Pranks Gone Wrong

We filled Pa’s boots with pudding one day,
He slipped ‘em on and danced all the way.
Ma swapped the salt with powdered glue,
Now her biscuits bounce and the dog won’t chew.
Uncle Ray duct-taped the outhouse door,
Granny burst through with a holy roar.
Cousin Joe put snakes in the feed,
Now the cows meditate and refuse to breed.
I tied Ma’s apron to the truck tailgate,
She baked a pie and dragged it through eight states.
The preacher’s chair got rigged to squeak,
Now every sermon sounds… unique.
We painted the rooster to look like a clown,
He won a pageant in the next town down.
Aunt Lou’s soap got swapped with lard,
Now she slips and shines in the church courtyard.
We mean no harm, just laughs and a scare,
But sometimes the sheriff don’t seem to care.
